For years I have wanted to experience a deep sea charter and this was finally the year I made it happen. I searched for several days to find the right captain; asking friends and searching the internet. I was finally led to Sea Bee Charters of Daytona Beach / Port Orange and Captain Chuck “CB” Bragg. After talking with Chuck on the phone to learn more about his approach to fishing, I had a peace that Sea Bee Charters was the right choice. I elected a full day 8 hour charter for our party of 3 (myself, my son, and son-in-law). Captain Chuck took us out to deep water (a quick ride in his cigarette style boat with twin 250 outboards) where we trolled and bottom fished. The day produced a monster cobia (50 pounds), black fin tuna, amber jack, and many huge red snapper (10 - 15 pounds). The Mate on the trip was Cory who not only kept our lines rigged and baited, was an excellent coach in the art of deep water fishing. Cory was also a hoot and great fun on the trip.

We had such a great experience, we chartered a second day with Captain Chuck and Mate Cory. I wasn’t sure if Captain Chuck could repeat success two days in a row but he really came through. An Analyst by profession, I enjoyed watching Captain Chuck use the tools of his trade (charts/maps, GPS, depth finder, 40+ years of commercial fishing and charter experience) to put us right on top of the fish. Captain Chuck is a pro who knows his craft. When trolling, he knew the bed where fish would be and moved in figure 8 and circle patterns to put us on the fish. When bottom fishing, Captain Chuck took great care to put us directly on top of bottom structure and ledges where the fish were. I’ve fresh water fished all my life and know there is never a guarantee of coming home with fish but Captain Chuck knew how to make sure the odds were in our favor and we were blessed to have 2 successful days of catching big fish and having a GREAT experience.

Finally, as part of his service, Captain Chuck (who also is owner of Port Orange Seafood) fillet'd our catch in his commercial shop and had it frozen and ready for transport to my freezer at home. It just does not get any better!

Thank you Captain Chuck and Cory for two great days of fishing and the experience of a life time. Not only did I find a great charter captain who I will call upon again, I have 2 new friends in Captain Chuck and Mate Cory!
